[ they’re going to talk - really, they are. penny just needs a bit of time first, because while ‘love’ might be a four letter word, it’s not exactly a bad one. it’s just that there’s a whole red-and-blue-and-wall-climby part of penny’s life that sansa doesn’t know about. and maybe, maybe she can handle not telling her, keep her safe and secure, but then the idea of getting caught twists her gut, because sansa’s one of the best things in her life, and penny really, really doesn’t want to fuck it up, and -
it all makes her head hurt, in a way that only going on patrol helps. being spider-girl is different from being penny parker: she gets to (metaphorically) stand a bit taller, sass off more often. good break from being herself, from stressing about papers and relationships and her girlfriend. it’s not avoidance if she’s doing something useful. like if the louis vuitton store on 5th ave gets some real shady characters with masks and guns stroll inside.
penny’s closer than the police are by a longshot, and she slips in through one of the third-floor window. she can hear the commotion downstairs: boots on the polished marble floors, registers opened, the leader explaining that nobody needs to get hurt, just toss your wallets and valuables in the bag.
she crawls, sticking to the ceiling of the main showroom, and looks down. ]
